This video is based on one of my earliest memories of becoming aware of my body image. I was about 11 years old, sitting at the kitchen table at my Aunt and Uncle's house, watching my beautiful, older cousin eat a chip. I studied her as she nibbled at the chip, ever so slowly. It was then I discovered the secret to eating chips (anything) and staying thin like she was; nibbling slowly.
Then as I grew older I heard many "secrets" to staying thin or losing weight and I paid attention to them all. Trying my hardest to incorporate them into my daily habits, only to ultimately fail. "Always drink a large glass of water before your meal in order to consume less." "Chew your bites thirty times to speed up the digestion process and keep your metabolism high."
Then after going through weight-loss surgery these tips became unnecessary but I encountered new challenges like eating too quickly or too much and having to "purge" after pretty much every meal. Though difficult to get used to I tried to lose as much as I could so I welcomed the new habit of purging half of everything I ate and did so comfortably for well over a year.
All in the name of "beauty".
