Drawings
I have utilized drawing as a source of meditation for many years and recently I began to teach a particular method that focuses on relaxation and concentration called Zentangle. I attended a week-long seminar to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher and now teach in Bakersfield in various locations.
Drawing allows me to sit quietly and empty out the noise that often clutters my mind. It is never premeditated so there isn't any pressure of executing something specific. I enjoy the free-flowing, organic unfolding of working this way.
Most of my drawing is done with Micron ink on paper, along with graphite for shading though I have also used colored pencils, various markers, and done mono print backgrounds with alcohol inks, speedball ink, acrylic and watercolor paint to draw on top of.
